Jupiter and the moon were quite close to each others tonight, it was cloudy at first but then sky cleared eventually to allow me to take a few snapshots.
Images taken with my Canon 200mm f2.8L prime lens. The internal reflection is quite serious, and in the following image, the moon like object is indeed a ghost image and the bright patch on the right is the real moon.
By removing the Kenko filter, the ghost was dimmer but it was still there. It explains why my total solar eclipse images were all "haunted".
But adjusting the exposure for the moon, Jupiter was rendered as a dim dot.
All images taken on a fixed tripod without tracking.
