Poor image processing

One day on slashdot, I saw a post with the following link:-

And is it really fake photo? After posting to the HKAS egroups, our conclusion is that it's probably due to poor stitching work, like this report states:-

So on doing mosaic, it could be pretty hard to ensure high accuracy, particular attention should be paid especially for national project. Image processing becomes easy in the digital age, but somehow it can be too easy to introduce careless errors. Let's pay attention to it, over-processing and careless process can be a really bad and misleading.
