Welcome to my astronomy blog, I dedicate myself to the simplest form of amateur astronomy which requires only portable equipment. I have two small refractors, two small binoculars, one small GOTO mount and another small equatorial mount, and a small H-alpha solar filter.
Originally from a city where the people were proud of their light pollution, that is Hong Kong where I loved. Relocated to the UK since 2021.
If I wanted to do the same in my mount, do you have a list of parts that I could buy somewhere? I think it is a very tempting project to try to motorize the DEC plate.

Nice job! I'm very interested abut your solution for motoring the DEC axis. What kind of parts did you use? Where did you buy them?
The infamous Chinese platform... taobao
Ha! I was not familiar with Taobao but now, I'm.

I checked my taobao record, I believe this is the motor:

And this is the main gear:

The motor controller is rather easy, since this is a DC motor only... you reverse the polarity, the direction of rotation will change.
Very nice! Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
